Kimberly Douglas is committed to educating students, colleagues, families by establishing strong connections. For the past 21 years, she’s served school communities within DCPS as a conflict resolution program developer, teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Kim is a first-generation American and avid traveler, which has molded her beliefs in equity, celebrating diversity, and service-learning. She firmly believes that success in education is about building relationships to help others overcome challenges.
As a school leader, Kim believes that her primary job is to ignite sparks of hope for a brighter future within our students, schools, and surrounding communities. She was rated a highly effective leader four of the five past school years at Brightwood EC. Ms. Douglas holds an M.Ed. in Education Leadership from George Mason University and a B.A. in Social Science/Child and Family Studies from Stony Brook University.
