Bunker Hill Elementary School
Jennifer Tompkins has 14 years of experience as an educator. She began her career as an elementary school teacher with Prince George's County Public Schools. The last 7 years of her career have been with DCPS. During this time, she has worked as an Instructional Coach, and an Assistant Principal at Charles R. Drew Elementary School. Ms. Tompkins has played a significant role in increasing student achievement and developing teacher capacity. She is passionate about making a difference. Ms. Tompkins believes education provides gateways to many opportunities in life, and all children should have equitable opportunities to achieve greatness. Ms. Tompkins was a member of the Georgetown University Leadership and Innovation Program- Cohort 1 for Assistant Principals. Ms. Tompkins earned her bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College, she holds a Masters in Urban Planning / Community Development from the University at Buffalo along with a Master’s of Education in Elementary Education from Canisius College.
